| I
moved to Reno in 2006 after many years of practice with a
respected family law firm in Las Vegas. I was very active
in Clark County as a Pro Tem Hearing Master for the Juvenile
Court handling dockets for abuse and neglect, delinquency,
drug court and truancy. I participated on the boards for the
Senior Citizens Law Project and the Family Court’s Outsource
Mediation Committee. I continue long distance to assist the
Mediators of Southern Nevada, Inc. I received their 2006 Peacemaker
of the Year award.
I use a peaceful and respectful approach when
working with divorcing families. Success is helping a client
reach a fully developed platform from which to launch his
or her new life. It is much more about helping a client realize
life goals than just focusing on the one issue of “How
much do I get?” This requires developing information
about what the law can and cannot do, weighing the best alternatives
available in the settlement process, deciding what and when
to litigate, and using all of this information to develop
a new start in life. Communication with the client is the
key.
I am active with the State Bar as the editor
of the Nevada Family Law Report and the Family Law Executive
Counsel. New projects include contributing chapters to the
Family Law Practice Manual for its printings, with the second
edition expected in 2008, and writing materials for continuing
legal education courses for litigators and mediators.
Born in Philadelphia and raised in its
Southern New Jersey metropolitan area, I lived in and around
the city until after law school, moving to Nevada first for
work and then staying for the very pleasant lifestyle of the
West.
